[closed] was a featured solodiner-friendly restaurant in the Fall01 issue of SoloDining.com, the newsletter.) Another of New York Magazine's solodining selections — one also featured in a past issue of SoloDining.com — was Beacon Restaurant Bar & Bakery; 212-332-0500; 25 W. 56th St.; New York, New York. Here's one of Beacon's sublime features: "12 feet long, four inches thick and roughly honed, 'The Communal Table,' 'The Slab,' 'The Mahogany' — or whatever you prefer to call it — tapers to three feet at one end and to two at the other."Bravo — New York Magazine!
